I first discovered dichroic glass by purchasing a piece for a friends birthday. I was amazed at the depth and variation of colour contained within the glass. I went looking for as much information as I could find about dichroic glass, finally attending a one day taster course. That was it I was hooked, my kiln arrived Christmas 2006, thanks to my family, I haven't stopped exploring and playing with glass since.
Spending time making the fused dichroic glass jewellery is fitted around family life and is my way of life. All of the fused glass jewellery pieces are my own designs.
I make my fused glass jewellery by hand cutting the glass to the shape required, the glass is then layered with other glass and finally capped with clear glass. This glass sandwich is then fused in the kiln taking care to probably anneal the glass for strength and durability. I like to think this is similar process to making toasted sandwiches... but less runny. The resulting piece of fused glass can be mounted in various ways or have a 99.9% silver bail fused in the glass, this is how I create stunning unique items of jewellery. Not just jewellery but wearable art, each as unique as your fingerprint.
I hope you enjoy the site and find the right piece of jewellery or art for you.
